Specializing in Upland Hunting

Salty Creek Kennels' bird dog program is a 4-5 month program specifically designed for upland dogs. We offer the option for two training methods: Steady to Wing, Shot or Steady to Wing, Shot and Fall.

Training begins by exposing your dog to live birds. During this time your dog is trained how to point properly and will be introduced to gun fire. Next, we will begin training your dog to quarter the field. After quarter training we will begin steadying your dog. These fundamentals will allow you to have a well disciplined dog ready to go for your next hunt at the completion of training.
