What does Salty Creek Kennels do differently than others trainers?Salty Creek Kennels is a small family-run operation owned by Noah Fouche. We have a maximum of 10 dogs in training at any given time ensuring your dog gets the individual attention it deserves. You can have peace of mind knowing your dog will be trained by Noah alone. This is a large difference from other kennels who rotate several trainers through the duration of a program. We believe consistency is the key to a successful dog! We live on site 24/7/365. Your dogs will live right alongside our personal dogs while they are in training. Our goal is to make your dog part of our family while they are here.
-
What age can my dog begin training? Most of our training programs accept puppies once they have completed all of their vaccinations, typically at 16-20 weeks of age. This is to ensure your puppy as well as the other dogs on the property are fully protected. Force fetch training is not offered until 6 months of age. This is to ensure the puppy has all adult teeth in before beginning force fetch training.
-
Is food included in training cost?Yes! All training packages include Purina Pro Plan Sport 30/20. We have tried several brands over the years and Purina Pro Plan is what has given our dogs the best health and performance year after year.
-
Are heartworm, intestinal parasite, flea and tick prevention required?Yes! We require all dogs in training be on a monthly heartworm/intestinal parasite preventative as well as a flea/tick product. This for the health and safety of every dog on the property. We are happy to supply both if needed for an additional fee.

What vaccines are required for training?Vaccination records must be received prior to arrival. We require the following vaccinations be up to date throughout training: -Rabies -Canine Distemper Virus -Canine Parvovirus -Canine Parainfluenza Virus -Canine Adenovirus type 2 -Leptospirosis 4-way (Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona) -Bordetella Bronchiseptica

Am I able to check on my dog while he/she is in training?Absolutely! We want you to feel completely comfortable while your dog is in training. Our goal is to spend as much time as possible with your dog while he/she is here so we do ask that you are respectful of Noah's time. Time spent calling clients, sending text messages, etc. is less time for training. We will send pictures periodically throughout training but we do not send videos. We ask that you limit communications to Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Although we live onsite, this is a business and we operate under normal business hours. We apprecaite your cooperation!
